Rhoxon Productions and Katie Nixon have partnered with Illusion of Movement and Group Stone Media Partners for their latest short film production, 52 PICKUP.
Written by award winning actress, writer producer Katie Nixon, the short story is set in Erie Pennsylvania and is centered around a woman who was sexually abused by her boyfriend as a young woman and later, she will become a corporate leader in a world that is anything but transparent.
Abdul Stone Jackson of Illusion of Movement will be directing, the director of photography, and editor. Katie Nixon is the lead actor and executive producer. Pamela S. Kramer is the producer and casting director.

Katie Nixon is a versatile multi-hyphenate artist working across screenwriting, acting, music, and producing. She penned 52 Pickup as an intimate, unflinching character study exploring trauma, accountability, and the difficult road to redemption. Her script emphasizes deeply authentic human relationships while constructing a visually compelling narrative heavily grounded in the landscapes and communities of northwestern Pennsylvania. In addition to her creative output as a performer and filmmaker, Katie is a dedicated champion of regional independent cinema, serving as the director and driving force behind Erie, PA's Lake Effect Film Festival. An award-winning artist whose career is quickly gaining momentum, she serves as both the writer and executive producer on this project.

Andrew Larkin is based in New York and has been in plays like The Laramie Project, Metamorphoses and The Great American Trailer Park musical. Also featured in Wesley Wangs short film “Nothing, Except Everything”. An independent film “The Vampire Next Door” and recently an ensemble baseball tv drama, “Heavy Hitters”. He also loves writing and is in pre production for his short film. He’s blessed to be a part of this exciting new project with an amazing team and wants to shout out the amazing casting director Pamela Kramer for making this all possible.

Shanice Stanislaus is an award-winning actor and theatrical clown. Her comedy-clown show 'Mail Ordered' is the winner of 3 Canadian Awards; the Pick of the Fringe award (Vancouver), Patron's Pick Award (Toronto) and the Jester's Cap Emerging Artist Award (Calgary) and was nominated for the 'Artistic Risk' award at the Vancouver Fringe Festival. She has taught clown and play-based dance workshops with Clown Gym (NYC), International Schools Theatre Association (UK), Esplanade Singapore, and the Singapore Repertory Theatre. She was a featured TED speaker representing Singapore for TED’s Global Idea Search in 2025.

Television audiences will recognize him from his recurring guest role as Counselor Kingston Giddens on NBC's hit series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Known for his compelling screen presence and versatility, his previous notable credits include Caper and Dark Fetish. Off-screen, Asa is a dedicated stage actor and active member of both The Core Artist Ensemble and The Naked Angels theater company. He brings his signature depth and intensity to his latest role in the short film 52 Pickup.

Judith Ann DiMinni is an award-winning emerging actress whose raw talent and natural, screen-ready presence have rapidly established her as a rising star. She made her remarkable feature film debut in the title role of the independent feature Bibi, starring alongside Tammy Blanchard. Her performance earned her a Director's Citation for Outstanding Acting at the New Jersey International Film Festival, where the film took home Best Feature. Her other screen credits include the independent short The Trouble with Sugar & Spice and appearances on Wonderama TV. A highly trained performer, Judith has honed her craft through intensive on-camera programs at A Class Act NYand recently expanded her dramatic repertoire into classical theater with the Prague Shakespeare Company. She brings a captivating chemistry and layered depth to her newest role in 52 Pickup.

Visually, 52 Pickup is designed around deliberate tension and environmental isolation, deeply rooted in the evocative landscapes and local communities of northwestern Pennsylvania. To isolate the characters and mirror the heavy themes of accountability, the camera choices are hyper-specific. For the non-moving, highly tense interactions, we locked the camera into deep-focus, high-focal-length frames between 70mm and 180mm. In contrast, the moving sequences utilize wider focal lengths between 24mm and 50mm, executing slow, subtle boom adjustments and sweeping dolly tracks to track the characters' internal shifts. Every shot lives on tracks, giving the camera a persistent, calculated presence that slowly uncovers the psychological truths of the narrative.
By shooting on 35mm 500T film and pairing it with the Panavision 14.5mm wide prime and the Panavision 11:1 zoom lens, the project captures an organic, high-contrast, and deeply textured look that digital sensors simply cannot replicate. This organic texture carries directly into the editing bay. The rhythmic pacing of the cut is dictate entirely by the performances of our exceptional ensemble cast, giving the heavy silence between lines as much weight as the dialogue itself. Ultimately, 52 Pickup is an atmospheric exploration of resilience, and my goal is to drop the audience directly into the tight spaces where these characters must finally confront their realities."

"When I first read Katie Nixon’s screenplay for 52 Pickup, I was immediately drawn to its raw, unflinching look at human relationships, trauma, and redemption. It is an intimate yet structurally complex story that demands a visual language as layered as its emotional themes. Serving as the director, cinematographer, and editor allows me to build a singular, unbroken bridge between the script’s psychological intent, the lens, and the ultimate pacing of the final cut.
